Michele’s inspiration reaches back to her childhood in the 1990s, when her family immigrated to the United States from South Korea. One of her most vivid memories is of her mother buying Hostess Apple Hand Pies — the kind tucked into parchment sleeves and rebaking them in the oven so their home would be filled with the warm, sweet scent of apple pie. For her mother, that fragrance symbolized America and the beginning of a new chapter. For Michele, it became a lasting emblem of comfort, belonging, and nostalgia.
